Project Methodology & Structure

A well-established discipline for many years, Project Management is the practice of defining and executing a project to make the most of limited resources (time, money, people, tools, etc.) and achieve the highest-quality results. Project Management has evolved dramatically in the last decade. New and converging technologies, regulatory changes and increasing globalization are creating challenges for organizations in choosing, defining and executing projects—making the need for Project Management specialists even greater.

PROGGEX’s experienced professionals are certified by the Project Management Institute—trained in the same industry-standard methodology used for everything from putting the space shuttle in space to relocating data centers to developing software products. Founded in 1969, PMI is the leading professional association for Project Management and conducts rigorous, globally recognized credential programs.

What Does a PMI-Certified Project Manager Do?
PMI’s Project Management Methodology provides the structure project leaders need to effectively and efficiently steward projects toward successful completion. PROGGEX’s PMI-certified experts systematically execute the five main processes of Project Management methodology—Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling and Closing. Specifically, their responsibilities are to:

  • Define the project.
  • Reduce it to a set of manageable tasks.
  • Obtain the necessary resources.
  • Build a team or teams to perform the project work.
  • Plan the work and allocate resources to the tasks.
  • Monitor and control the work.
  • Report progress to senior management and/or the project sponsor.
  • Close down the project when completed.
  • Review the project to understand the lessons learned.

PROGGEX’s PMI-certified professionals are experts in the nine knowledge areas of Project Management (as identified in the industry-standard text, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, or the PMBOK® Guide):

  • Project integration
  • Project scope
  • Project time
  • Project cost
  • Project quality
  • Project human resources
  • Project communications
  • Project risk management
  • Project procurement
